In December 1956, Roen Steamship Company of Sturgeon Bay purchased the John Purves and put her to work on all five Great Lakes taking on towing and salvage jobs. The Purves was well known throughout the Great Lakes for her strength and towing capabilities. In fact, due to her might, she made a good living after the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway, rescuing many a saltwater vessel that ran aground in the tricky channels of the Great Lakes.

The Orchards at Egg Harbor is a spectacular 18 hole championship golf course is built on 200 acres of scenic Door County property. The course is 7,200 yards from the back tees and winds through mature hardwoods, orchards and rolling meadows that are highlighted by a 5-acre lake. It's challenging design is rated 74.4 from the tips, but offers at least 4 sets of tees at each hole that allow players of all skill levels to find an appropriate challenge for their game. The new clubhouse is a magnificent compliment to the Orchards championship course. This clubhouse is a great place to relax, socialize, dine, and entertain. Trolley Tours

Birch Creek is located three miles east of Egg Harbor on Wisconsin's beautiful Door County peninsula. The campus is centered around the 500-seat Dutton Concert Barn, a renovated century-old barn with exceptionally fine acoustics. The barn also includes practice rooms, classrooms, and a green room for those waiting to perform. Across a courtyard that features the campus' open-air performance gazebo is the original farmhouse, which now serves as a listening library, faculty office, classroom facility, and sleeping quarters for counselors. The nearby granary is used for practice space, and there have been upgrades to a building that serves as a TA dorm. In 1998, a new kitchen/dining hall and classroom addition were dedicated, and 1999 saw the expansion of the farmhouse's sleeping quarters for counselors and interns. In 2001, a keyboard lab was installed in the farmhouse, and 2007 saw upgrades to the dining area, existing classrooms and student dorm. In 2008, three new buildings were added

The Peninsula Players Theatre and its box office are located between Fish Creek and Egg Harbor, just off State Highway 42. Look for the green highway sign and turn west (toward the bay.) We're at the end of Peninsula Players Road, along the scenic shore of Green Bay.

In our little corner of the woods, those ominous rumblings about the Death of American Musical Theatre are drowned out by the footfalls of 40,000 loyal fans strolling down the path in Fish Creek's Peninsula State Park each summer to laugh and cry with our merry players under the newborn stars. Schopf's Hilltop Dairy is a Door County family fun stop that's both educational and entertaining. You are invited to learn all about the Wisconsin dairy industry at Door County's largest dairy farm by experiencing it first-hand. Take everyone on a free, working dairy tour. Watch the ongoing milking operations, milk "Cookie" the cow and then taste the end result - 30 flavors of homemade ice cream in the Dairy View Country Store Ice Cream Parlor. OPEN DAILY FROM 9 AM - 6 PM Enjoy our own homemade pizza, baked fresh here or as a carry-out and frozen to go. Our expanded menu features Panini bread grilled cheese sandwiches with ham or turkey, crossiants, wraps, fudge and ice cream bars. Egg Harbor was recently selected to be “Best Small Town” in Wisconsin in a survey by Wisconsin Trails magazine. Editor Kristen Scheuing shared, “With so many great towns in Wisconsin, choosing the best ones was a tough task.
